You probably know that music royalties can get very complicated. Not when you use my music.

I am a royalty free composer. I am not a member of the Dutch performance rights organisation (PRO) Buma/Stemra or any other PRO. Therefore all my music is royalty free.

Testimonials

The proof is in the pudding — and here’s the pudding.

“To my client Happy Home holiday houses, I have once advised to add a sound logo to the radio commercials that had to be made, in order to make them more recognizable (and to make them more attractive). Then, eventually but much too late, a “go” was given to go on with this idea. A week before the commercials had to go on air, it was a huge problem to find someone who was available on short notice and who was able to produce something good. Googling brought me into contact with Wouter Siteur. “Instant composer and soundesigner”. Hmm, never heard of. His story on the website sounded promising. You know what, let’s call him. We made an appointment and we discussed the whole thing. Long story short: in two days he created a perfect 2.5 seconds soundlogo. With immersive music and a song that immediately “sticks”. I was immediately tempted to  book an holiday house! So Wouter was able to  provide a perfect product in a very short period of time. And it turned out he was also a very pleasant guy to work with!”

Harry Rijs
Copywriter and former creative director at TBWA/Job Company

“I am very satisfied about the collaboration with Wouter. He is good and he works fast. He is a good listener and he quickly gets a feeling of what is needed. That is a very pleasant way of working. For the radio commercial of Neckermann he quickly caught the right atmosphere. I’m sure the next time I’ll go to Wouter again and I can only recommend it to anyone who needs music to do the same.”

Martijn Hahn
Creative Director, VLAM

“It is very relaxing and fun to work with Wouter. He shows that he is concerned, he is searching to find the best solution for the customer and he isn’t acting just “to please himself” (as it happens sometimes in the creative area).”

Peter Huijsman
the brandstory

“The musical creations of Wouter are  outstanding and they create an appropriate atmosphere. On top of that, the collaboration with Wouter is extremely pleasant. Enthusiastic, active listening, committed, critical, flexible, and professional workmanship. And with his “Instant  Composing” formula, you get results very fast!”

Arjan Toet
creative at Tinqwise

“We have worked very pleasantly with Wouter and that has a number of reasons:
* Wouter’s personality makes it very easy to work with him, it’s like meeting an old friend. His hospitality and enthusiasm immediately create the right atmosphere for a fruitful musical session.
* Wouter’s craftsmanship ensures an extremely versatile approach to the customer’s request, and during the process of trying out, focusing, polishing, finishing, the right direction to a good final product can be found very fast.
* Wouter’s way of working makes, in a unique way, the communication direct and straightforward. During the instant composing session we can, as an agency, together with our client, determine the concept of the music. The further elaboration then follows without our presence, but with the first session, a lot of mailing back and forth of examples and versions can be avoided.
Briefly, we can recommend Wouter to anyone who is looking to get a great result well within the given deadline and with a very pleasant cooperation as a starting point.”

Jaap Leertouwer
Creative at Kurta52

“What was a very pleasant experience for me was that with Wouter’s adequate method, we quickly got a good result. It was also nice in this project that he checked the expectations of the client so that that a clear picture emerged with regard to the end result. In this way, the music fits beautifully with the  intros we created and it supports the intentions the architects had for the design of the Hema-building. Furthermore, he doesn’t hesitate to share his knowledge which makes it very pleasant to work with him.”

Marius Regterschot
Creative at CAPAZ

“Wouter is a nice man who listens to your question very well. He has all the peace and quiet he needs to create something good. He is really interested in you and that makes you feel as if you are taken seriously. His Instant Composing approach which let you just come along in the studio where he immediately creates something while you are there, is very handy and appealing to me. And if I invite my clients to go to the studio with me, it is very nice to know: we are going to visit Wouter, we’ll be fine.”

Okke Enzler
LaunsbacH[media]

“I am very happy that Wouter quickly figured out what direction I wanted to go with the mood of the film and specifically with the atmosphere of the music. Certainly within the time available, he did very good job that goes outside the traditional paths.”

Music For Advertising

Music in advertsing has a very strong emotional influence. With the right music you can create the feel about your product, service or brand you want.

Music is important because it works unconsciously and creates at least 50% of the experience.

RTV Commercials
When you include an audio logo consistently in all your radio- and television commercials, you will increase your brand awareness, sales and customer satisfaction. Even when people don’t watch the TV during the commercial break or don’t listen to the radio consciously!

Online Advertising
The right music is also important for online advertising, no matter if you create an online movie, an advergame or need background music for a website or banner.

Where music for commercials is linear, music for online most of the time is non-linear. Often there are multiple audio layers needed: background layers and interactive layers. The interactive layers react to the user. And all layers have to stay in sync, no matter what the user does!

Sonic Branding

Sonic branding is thinking about music in a strategic way. How does your brand, product or service sound like? It extends your visual communication with an audio identity.

To find the right sonic identity for a brand, product or service, I conduct (a series of) interactive workshops. During these workshops:

  • we investigate the core values of your product, service or brand
  • we analyze your history of using music
  • we investigate how the market uses sound and music
  • we create musical moodboards

This will result in music and an audio logo you can use as:

  • music for commercials (RTV)
  • music for online advertising
  • music for corporate movies
  • music for presentations
  • music in stores
  • music on hold
  • ringtone

When you use your sound consistantly, you will see:

  • increased brand awareness
  • more sales
  • more happy customers
  • more happy employees

Instant Composing

You probably know that it is difficult to talk about music. Therefore I developed a unique no-cure-no-pay Instant-Composing-method. This ensures you quickly get the right music.

During our first meeting I start composing immediately, based on your instructions. Within an hour I compose a first musical sketch. You can follow and influence everything I do. And if you don’t like the result, you don’t have to pay (this never happens!).

This Instant Composing is also possible on location (in The Netherlands) or via Skype.

When I am on location, I use my mobile studio and I won’t leave until you are satisfied!

The Man With The Horns

As a jazz saxophone player, classical clarinet player and pop drummer, I am specialised in acoustical music, like pop, jazz, french, funk, classical and world music.

You can use this music to create trust. Or to invoke happy, warm, relaxed, melancholic, heroic, romantic, stylish or energetic feelings and thoughts. Or to emphasize the authenticity and honesty of your brand, product or service.

I studied jazz theory at the Schumann Academy, went to Scott Smalley in Los Angelos for a masterclass orchestration, learned how to compose music for advertising and film at Music for the Media, learned counterpoint from Misha Mengelberg and studied audio engineering at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) and the Sound Academy.

My Passion For Music

I already make music since I was a child. But because of several reasons, I didn’t go to the conservatory, but I studied electrical engineering at the University of Twente. After my study I worked as a software engineer, project manager and business consultant.

But music always was an important “second life” for me. I played in several bands and took a lot of music and audio classes. In 2005 I finally choose with my heart, made music my “first life”, quit my job and started a business as a advertising & film composer.

I am still happy with the path I took and you should be too! When you hire me, you get a composer who chose for his passion. You get an engineer that knows how to run a studio. You get a business consultant who can listen to your needs. And you get a project manager who communicates in a clear way about results, planning and budget and who will deliver your music in time!

Royalty Free Composer

You probably know that music royalties can get very complicated. Not when you use my music.

I am not a member of the Dutch performance rights organisation (PRO) Buma/Stemra or any other PRO. Therefore all my music is royalty free.

This means when you use my music, you don’t need permission from and you don’t have to pay additional fees to PRO’s like Buma/Stemra in The Netherlands, PRS in the UK, SACEM in France, GEMA in Germany or ASCAP / BMI / SESAC in the US.

I think I can serve my clients better without being associated to a PRO.
